It's been quite some time since i last wrote in here, shall copy Junxian and use this title. Quite like the sound of it too. It's been coined by Zhiwei I think, to describe the thereness; after all, we commission in just 27 days. This past week has been all about tests, we had tactics test 1 on monday and tactics test 2 on thu. After the 1st test, and realising I scored ~80, I've set my goal to put my name up for best knowledge. But didn't work hard for it or anything, shall just go with the flow and see what happens. We had HCC on Wednesday, went Hendon to get wet, it rained quite a lot so we didn't get to do all the high obstacles, just jumped off the confidence jump and the flying fox into the sea. Hate to get wet.... On tuesday we did the IAB, walk there 45 min, walk across the bridge in 2 mins, then walk back, total waste of time, but we need it for the IPB. But it was quite funny when Darrel fell into the water. The rest of the week was preparatin for the OCCT grading on Thursday afternoon, we had loads of OCCT lesson this past week, the whole wing passed with 21 AIs, a little dissapointed not to be one, but oh it's all over.
Had 2 fun events the past 2 weeks, the 1st was the steamboat at wingline organised by me, boontat and lester. Hugh success and we were the first ever to do such a thing, there were a few minor cock-ups to be sure but it didn't spoil the mood much. We managed to get WSM drunk and it was hilarious hearing him talk. The 2nd event was wing cohesion day at Sentosa on Friday. We booked out on Thursday because we had this event on Friday morning, quite an interesting day, although whether it fulfilled wing cohesion is another matter. It was just a fun day in the beach for me. Didn't get much of a tan though, guess i should stop using SPF30 sunblock.
The talk these days is about our postings, we're all wondering where we'll be posted to. My NS life is fixed to be in unit and wonder how I'll fare. Lta Terrence said I'll be Dy S3 or a unit PC. Wonder how it'll be like, not sure if I'll be able to lead effectively and efficiently. OCS is quite a long course, and we're taught all the neccessary technical skills, but I wonder, is it really enough? When you're really responsible for the men under you, are we trained in how to handle their various problems, and will they actually listen to you? It's all about the human factor, our fellow cadets don't really need looking after, they are responsible enough to take care of themselves. The problem comes when they are men, but I suppose I'll tackle that problem if and when it presents itself.
