Back from Kuantan

Just got back from a weekend of diving in Kuantan. It was a live-on-board and I went for 4 dives. Could have gone for a maximum of 6, but decided to skip 2 cause I was feeling nauseous. Anyway, the trip was to test out my new camera which I bought on Wednesday. My newest toy is a Fujifilm Finepix F31fd.

The first two dives were wreck dives and the first thing that greeted us were batfish. The batfish were huge and accompanied us all over the wreck. I think they are very used to divers as they were swimming near the surface and waiting for bread to be dropped to them. I managed to see my first moray eel at least, though it was a small one. There were also plenty of pufferfish at the wreck. Haven
seen one blow up yet though, I hear if the tail is pulled, the pufferfish will inflate. I did see an interesting sight though, a pufferfish swam close to a sea urchin and got poked by it... Never expected to see a fish get poked by a sea urchin, and both creatures are spiny ones at that.

The third dive was at a tyre reef and the visibility there was horrid. The only plus point is that there were plenty of small sharks around. The shark should be just visible in the picture. There were also other fishes such as pufferfish, but the pictures didn't turn out that great. There was more to see on my last dive, and I took a couple of nice macro shots. And it is literally a couple. One beautiful picture of a sea slug and one of a starfish. The colours in both are quite striking.

I guess the trip was a good way to end an otherwise hectic week. Last week was ultra slack as it was the first week back in office since FC ended and I suppose they were too busy to give me work. However, the moutain of work just increased exponentially since then. On the plus side, went to support Darius's band on Wednesday after watching Fantastic Four and had lunch with the FC people on Friday to celebrate Clarice's birthday. So the week wasn't all about work, but I guess that's why the gah'men is paying me so much. To work, work, work...
There was also Kathy and Chee Ho's wedding the week before. Good opportunity to meet up with the IC people, a lot of whom I have not seen in ages. Wonder whose wedding will be next?
