This past week has been one of the most fun I've had in a long while. Think the fun started on Friday, 28 Dec. Had dinner with the Koh Sisters at Mortons and the food was amazing. Started the night with a Vodka Mortini which was uber strong, followed by copious bottles of wine and good steak. The night ended with their Legendary Warm Chocolate Cake which I admit is the best I've ever had.
On Saturday, went shopping at the Butcher at Chip Bee gardens, spent approximately $70 on meat for my BBQ on Sunday. That very night, went to Ken's place for a BBQ. Got quite high on a mix of stuff, started with wine, proceeded with Blue label and ended with Macallen 18 year. Jean only showed up at 11pm plus and it was then Mahjong the whole night. I konked out at 3plus from all the alcohol and was promptly woken at 6:30am after they had finished 3 rounds. The only consolation I got from the stayover is that I lose any money from MJ. Technically shared it with Jean.
Sunday night was my small B03 gathering. Invited a small group only and only had Lester, Boontat and YQ for the BBQ proper. And YQ was late at that, came an hour after we started cooking. This was a different type of BBQ from my usual type, just 1 steak per person and 1 deboned drumstick. Had mash, mushrooms and salad for sides to complement the food on the BBQ. Later at night, YJ, JX and David showed up. Guess I fulfilled my objective of a small B03 gathering. They stayed till 2 ish and we finished my bottle of Macallen 12 and went halfway through my bottle of Macallen Inspiration.
Monday was countdown and I stoned at work for the whole morning. Left work at 1 and napped the afternoon away until it was time to go to Tiannuo's place for dinner and countdown. It was quite a nice evening and the hostess was particularly interesting, found out that Zhimin is a happy drunk. :) Played some MJ at their house too, but nothing special about the game.
Tuesday was lunch with the Koh sisters at Lei Garden followed by dinner with Gareth and Gerald. Dinner was at Miao Yi followed by movie at J8. Watched AVP2 as it was not a movie they wanted to watch with their gfs. Can't really say much of the show as it was just a black blur one after another for me. Nonetheless, it was good to meet up with them, think it was over a year since I last saw the two of them.
Wednesday met the IC people for dinner at Sun and Moon. Had quite a nice time catching up with them and Doris said she'd organise a BBQ at her place in 2 weeks. Think it should be pretty interesting since it's a new place. She is also one lucky girl, being posted back to Singapore on expat package.
So there, I have a large number of my group of friends over the past 7 days. The next groups to meet I think would be the Delta group and the Scout groups...
Christmas was the usual lunch at my aunt's place and there's really nothing much to crow about. The fun mostly started on the Friday after Christmas...
