Finally found time to pen this blog, should have done it days ago when I first returned from Brunei. Am back triumphant with a JCC badge...hehz... All in all, the experience wasn't too bad, din really feel starved during Ex Chillhermit, just felt weak and didn't feel like moving. At least I completed most of the tasks, even though the 1st day was terribly unproductive. During our 3rd day assessment, Lta Iqbal assessed me and he gave me all the food he had, he's too nice a person. At the end, I left out the rope but he still gave me all the food he had. After that we had Ex Chillbone. Our group was the infamous Tango 04, who was lost for the whole of the 2nd day because our GPS wasn't working, in the end we resorted to comms-ing our checkpoint and telling them we're totally lost. We shouted for help and luckily were guided to the checkpoint. Thereafter we got our GPS changed and rushed through all the remainding checkpoints to end at 1630 day 4, 4 hours plus after the 2nd last group. Even with such timings, we would haf ended at the average Golf timing. Shows how good Bravo is rite...ego...hehz...
Came back to Lakiun camp to nuah the last few days and went off to a BORING R&R. We were all wishing desperately to come back home for reunion dinner and after a 2 hour flight, I was finally home!!! Everybody missed home but I guess I'm too used to being away that that feeling wasn't really there, would have like to be anywhere except Brunei at that time.
Coming to Chinese New year, it's the 1st time in 4 years that I'm celebrating CNY in Singapore. The feeling is different to be sure, is nice to be with family. We had our reunion dinner at Long Beach and was stuffed by the end, having 3 bowls of orh nee for dessert. On chu yi, went to visit Khor and spent the afternoon at Popo's house. Played some Blackjack and won a bit of money, luck seems good this year. Yesterday visited Gerald and Gareth's houses and chatted with them the whole morning. In the afternoon, accompanied Mother to Uncle Fok's house, waste of time. The final highlight of this hol came this morning when I played tennis with Yijian and a few others from 9 to 12. Quite fun though they aren't very good, cept for Yijian who had some nice shots.
Later tonight shall go for Yu sheng with Zee and family, and hopefully drinks with Eesin and the rest. Assuming their plans are carried out, which I doubt will happen after our last failed cheong attempt.
