Yesteday morning in camp, I got a pleasant suprise from S3. He told me I was to be posted to 3SIB as a project officer to help out in NDP. After a particularly gruelling PT session in the morning conducted by OC support, I was pretty happy to leave. A 6km run followed by 100 push-ups, misc. ab exercises and 20 unassisted chin-up (the last 14 were assisted, supposed to do 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8 but my arms gave way on the last 2 sets) was just too much for me. So that night, I packed my stuff and booked out.
This morning, I reported to 3SIB at 8am only to be told S1 wasn't around. So I just hung around and waited till 10 when he arrived. Thereafter he told me briefly what I was to do and said he'd brief me in detail only after I had settled all my admin on shifting camp. There goes my dream of a stay-out job, the only consolation is that I still don't have the keys to my bunk, so shall just stay out till the key finds it's way to me. Basically I just bummed the whole day away in camp, there wasn't anything for me to do anyway. I also learnt that I needed my SBO and fullpack. So, it was back to Amoy Quee Camp for me.
Returned to Amoy Quee Camp to get my stuff, met all the other YSLs there. Seems they were going to have night's out. Think they'll really bond tightly after this whole UIP, wonder how I'll fit in when I get back, which is quite a long while from now. The next time I'm back in Amoy Quee will be 1st Sep. Anyhow, should see them during NDP. On another note, the bunks in 3SIB are much better than those in 2SIR.
