74 more days to ORD and the arrows are flying aplenty. In fact, I just got a call 2 hours ago from CPT Goh asking me to produce a video by Monday night for CO's presentation at Army Workplan Seminar. So I've been given 2 and a half days to produce a 1 minute video. Have come up with an idea, but not sure what are the resources available to me. Shall ask him soon enough.
This past week was quite hectic, there was CO Conf on Monday, sat in for my third consequtive conference, the only good thing is that I'm hence privvy to more information than others, not that the information really matters. Tuesday Luqman dissapeared, hence things sort of slowed down at the Coy line. Slowing down means IPPT, 24km RM recce and 7.5km TT. The recce was the worst of all because the terrain really sucked and we all returned looking like Op Dessert Storm warriors with all the sand and dust thrown up. Wednesday was mainly preparation for the 16km RM that night. The new officers also showed up then, haven been especially friendly towards them, been showing them a bochup face thus far. Guess I take some time to warm up to people. It's also the same reason why Lester said I looked dao when I first joined 'B' Wing. The walk that night was quite relaxed, though I interspaced it with a short jog and FM in FBO because I had to catch up with the Coy. Thursday was another boring day of lectures and finally Friday was just TD tour.
The new officers also quite suay, 1st day in Bn and they have to do a 16km RM with us. Plus I don't think they were particularly happy to see the condition of their bunks when they first come in, although they are staying in Spear now. This is not that great an idea, after all, they are in their own isolated world and interaction with the older officers will naturally be harder.
On another note, Zhenghan's mum passed away yesterday morning and a whole bunch of the B03 guys went down to pay our respects. She had been battling cancer and a secondary infection killed her. It came as a total suprise to him and he's angry about it all, but it can be understood I suppose. Wonder how I'll hold up it a death happens in the family. Certainly not a topic I want to think about right now. At least we took his mind of it for the short time we were there.
