Happy Hour

I'm currently nicely buzzed from the Happy Hour at 2SIR. The officer mess held Happy Hour and invited the ORD officers to go back, at the same time as a last celebration before their 1 week outfield next week. Free alcohol and me do not go well together. Didn't really count how many drinks I had today but at least I'm not puking yet and I'm still sane enought to blog. Today's Happy Hour was also a chance to show the Bn appreciation for the officers of 12th mono who have left the Bn as they gave us all souvenirs. MAJ Alvin as well as CPT Gabriel came back to join the festivities. Sadly not all the outgoing officers came back, only BT, Hongda, Allan, Eugene and I came back. I honestly think I'll be more sane if I puke everything out but I've not reached the state where it comes naturally.

Have been at work the past two days and finally have got email today. Haven't had anything to do the last two days for which I'm grateful. I think when the work comes, it'll pour. Met my section head today and he broadly highlighted my portfolio. Before that I met PS and DS for a short session. Main takeaway is to perform so that people will not think adversely of me because I'm a scholar. Being in HR means that people know the ROA of scholars and might feel that it's unfair. Have already decided on an action plan next week, at the very least my section should not feel that way.

I must say it's amazing that I have 30 odd emails in the two days of starting work, with some coming even before I start work. I am a little worried about all that I'm supposed to do though, it seems quite a bit. But I'll never know until I try. On another note, seems I'll be privvy to some priviledged infomation since PSD is after all the central HR ministry...
