Of shades and hair

Was out today at sentosa with the OCS gang. Sun-tanning, some beach volleyball, some kayaking, basically leading the nice beach lifestyle. But as a result of vanity, I'm now looking like a panda. Oakley shades are quite effective at blocking UV rays. Haven't really been wearing them these past few weeks, haven't been wearing my contacts either. Practicality has won out over vanity when I'm in camp. Being on the beach is a totally different manner. The photo below was taken in Madrid 2003, whilst I was out holidaying with Jeftor and Lindi. Was wearing my shades everyday then; must look good for prosterity.

I'm currently using this photo as my msn picture. Definately miss my long hair from then, but right now, I have to uphold a certain image, nonetheless, I think this style will return once I'm out of NS. Mark was saying this is a beng image and perhaps it is, but I definately was not beng-ish then. Scholar leh, how to be beng, it is definately shallow to judge people based on appearances, but as BT wrote in his blog eons ago, people he's introduced to don't seem to take notice of him unless the words masters, PSC scholar and cambridge are mentioned together. Though saying that, he definately looked more beng than me. Have ever thought he was a girl from the side profile, such was the length of his hair then.
