Since Royston so kindly pointed out I've been neglecting my blog, I decided to post after the Carnival ended. After 9 days of sweat and toil, the Carnival@Marina came to a successful close with a fireworks display 4 hours ago. I did say I'd post the day it ended but alas, by the time I got around to posting, the day had come to an end.

Today had 2 main shows, the first at 11am and the second at 6pm. The shows started off with the Red Lions, I think there were a total of 17 Red Lions jumping for each of the shows. The last few had the usual flags symbolising the pillars of Total Defence.

This was then followed by the Provost Precision Drill and another item before the Tri-service show began. The Main show had the SCDF segment first, with the alien looking people clearing the "contaminated material" after a suspected terrorist attack and this was followed by the SAF portion which had a lot more action.

The show starts with recce troopers being inserted in by parachutes to recce the enemy positions. All this while, other troops are inserted by chinooks and SPs. The show ends with an armoured assault on the objective to capture it. I've seen the show so many darn times and today is finally the day I brought my camera to capture the action. Kudos to 5 SIR for a job well done.

There was fireworks after that but I don't have any good photos to show of it. Didn't bring a tripod for one thing and the stupid MM tree was blocking my view of the high-level fireworks. Would have gotten an unobstructed view if I went with my boss to the front but decided to stay with my friends on the field to watch the fireworks.
I'm so glad the thing is finally over, now to relax and claim all the weekends I've burnt at Carnival. Tomorrow is one such day of off...
