It's been such a long time since I last updated. Think the reason was that I felt my blog was just talking about tennis and work. These two items do take up a significant portion of my time. Anyway I was preparing the guest list for my annual BBQ, have decided to take a leaf from Lester's book and invite lesser people. Initially set a cap at 20, now it's at 25, wonder how much it'll grow to when I actually get down to inviting people. But from past experience, the actual turnout is normally lesser than the expected.
Met the B03 people on Saturday, got irritated by them, the invites went out three weeks ago but I was only remembered on Saturday itself. Even then, the turnout wasn't very big, had dinner at Maxwell Rd, then they went to watch R21 movie at Yangtze. YQ and I didn't join them but spent the next hour or so chatting at Macs. Later heard the movie was total crap, which I suspected already.
Dinner was interesting, was chatting with Zhengxi and found out there are quite a few links between us. His friend was the previous owner of Trysha's house, plus he knows David Low and Denise Wong is his tutor for this sem. His comment was that intelligentsia in Singapore is small and everyone is connected. Doubt I qualify as intelligentsia yet. Anyway, I think it's amazing that he's still studying in Singapore, he should just go to London or NY for his undergraduate studies, though I feel he's already very well connected.
