Interesting end to an otherwise boring Saturday...

Today I attended my first political rally, I shan't mention names or parties here, lest I be accused of promoting a certain political view/party. Anyway, it was a 2 hour long affair with me standing on muddy turf in sandals listening to people speak. Some were good, some were dissapointing and some were boring, but at least one of them apologised for being boring. I honestly did expect more from the new face but he fell short, his presentation skills weren't there yet compared to the more established politicians; and he is the one supposed to represent my views, not that I'm really part of the post 1965 generation, more like the post 1980 generation... The speeches also varied between languages, the same speaker would have the same main points in both mandarin and english, but the mandarin version would have more anecdotes whereas the english version would be more factual (/boring). Obviously I can only comment on the english and mandarin versions, my command of hokkein is non-existant, needless to say of malay and tamil. One important takeaway from the rally, 'wear waterproof shoes'. Haha...

On another note, went Ikea shopping today for bookshelves. Hopefully I get my way and get to redesign my entire room. It'll take quite a bit of work though, my bed is quite impossible to move. Perhaps it's time to change a new bed...
