Got a nice envelope in the mail today from PSC. Basically it said this:
1. Thank you for attending the interview with the Public Service Commission on 6 Sep 05.
2. We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected for appointment to the Management Associate Programme (MAP)...
So this means I'm an MA, subject to me signing the letter of appointment of course. But that will definately happen. As of today, I know of 11 MAs who have gone through the commission interview. Way more than I heard from last year when only Biye got it. As I was telling my sister earlier today, now I've got a chance to earn as much as her, though I have no idea how much an associate in Morgan Stanley earns.
Anyway, the letter puts an end to the wait I've had since Tuesday. Am quite happy be appointed into the MAP, though I must say I'm suprised one other scholar got it as well. But as PS(PSD) said, choosing MAs is an art, not a science. There are no clear cut answers.
Went outfield from Wednesday to Thursday, didn't get to see many BMTC people on Tekong then as they were busy with POP on Wednesday as well as the new intake of recruits on Thursday. Still managed to meet John Lee, Ngiam and Lester on Thursday as they were handling the parents and what not.
The Section Prof test was quite an interesting experience, I got to see how the men work and their motivation levels. Totally different from what I've seen whilst being a Cadet. I wonder how I'll handle them when I take over, can I be hard enough on them that they will listen to me or will they just walk all over me, I guess time will tell. Their section drills can definately do with some improvement. I guess I'll see more this coming week during the platoon training. Still have yet to tell the Sect Comd I assessed the areas of improvement, maybe I'll do so on Monday. Finally, seeing Bravo in action with BT and John camou on, casevac-ing their men, I'm quite happy to be in Charlie, it really is a more LO place.
